Temperament: A ridiculous oblivious teddy bear. We're really not sure where the name Brutus came from, but it was probably meant as a joke. We initially thought he was deaf- it turns out he is just completely un-startle-able. A car backfiring and a bird landing on a nearby branch garner the same reaction- polite and slightly vacant but perfectly friendly inquiry. He displays the breed's characteristic extremely comfortable trot/amble gait and light feathers.
Background: Bovidaeloony's mares Frenchy and Red were rescued from a PMU ranch, but were originally bred by a small reputable stable in New York known for their European drafts and high quality imports. Though the stable has shut down in the intervening years, we have been able to track down some of their stock which were dispersed through sale and auction. Richard bought this stallion as a hopeful jousting mount, but with Frechy's breeding and Roland and Charlemagne's training, never had time to start him seriously. Besides that, once the stallion matured he proved to be of the lighter Suffolk Punch-like type at only 15.1 hands, rather than the massive Ardennes-like type, and thus too small for Richard in his full tournament armor.
The stallion was then put up for ransom at a Jousting Event where Heather, owner of Iron Dune Stable, was allowed to adopt the stallion on the agreement he would receive a good home.
